BazarKurdistan:
Stone, this familiar material in the history of human life. Stone is not just a substance; it has always been a vital element in architecture and the construction of habitats. It even has magical and healing properties, as there are stones with therapeutic qualities.
Iran, after China, India, and Italy, ranks as the fourth largest stone producer in the world and holds the number one position globally in terms of quality and diversity. The four types of stone—marble, Chinese stone, granite, and travertine—are the best-selling stones in the country on the global market, mostly exported in the form of blocks, rough stones, or stone slabs. Fars Province, with over 650 active mines, is one of the leading provinces in the country for mining activities, particularly in the field of building stones, which hold a special place. These mines encompass a quarter of all identified mines in the country. Iran has a better status in terms of the diversity of building stones compared to competitors such as Brazil and India. For example, Brazil and India have only one type of ore, namely granite, while Italy has only marble; however, Iran can be called a paradise for building stone mines. Despite the annual turnover of $80 billion in global stone trade, unfortunately, our country’s share is estimated to be only $200 million.
Iran’s wealth is not limited to oil reserves. There are many other cases like these precious Iranian Stones that have put Iran in the top ranks of the world in terms of wealth. We have many Stones in Iran.
In the export sector, Iran ranks 49th globally and has a small share in world trade. However, in Iran, six precious Iranian Iranian Stones called garnet stone, agate stone, turquoise stone, jade stone, pearl stone, and azure stone are found in abundance. It is exciting to know that turquoise is the most important stone that is extracted from Iran. Stones of Iran have excellent quality.
Fars Province is one of the most important centers for marble production in Iran, known for its exceptional visual appeal, particularly the “Spider Stone.” The black Spider Marble belongs to the Dehbid family and features beautiful golden veins. This type of stone comes in burnt brown and black colors, with spider-like veins visible in its pattern.
Most of the Natural Stone exports from Iran go to the Kazakhstan , Turkey , and Russia.
There are no specific statistics available regarding the export of Iranian stone to the Kurdistan region; however, considering the extensive construction taking place in that region, stone could hold a significant position among the country’s export items.
